A Blog that No One Will Read?

P9090083Before I started this venture I read a book about blogging.  It was titled The Huffington Post Guide to Blogging and probably should have been titled The Huffington Post Guide to Political Blogging, but it still had a lot of practical information about entering the blogosphere and what to expect once you were in.  One thing it told you to expect was a small audience at first.  An audience so small that it might amount to only your spouse checking in once a day to try to make up for whatever argument the two of you have most recently had.  If this is the case, why blog?

For me, the answer is commitment.  Which is the entire point of The Hot Pink Bike Route.  Can we commit to doing something daily and will it improve our health and therefore our lives if we do?

Today I really really did not want to get on my bike.  Did I say really really?  I meant really really really really really really really.  It is overcast and I am tired.  But I forced myself to go out there and ride for 18 minutes.  I hope to set bigger goals for the future, but this satisfied my paltry initial goal.  I kept my commitment.  And for today, I am satisfied.

I am so inspired by your commitment! When you start going on longer rides, come by my house and see if you can drag me away from the couch and the book I’m sure to be in the middle of!
